Activities that meet social emotional standards

I'm going to start something new here on my little blog, and I'm kind of excited about it! Every Wednesday I'll focus on a different early learning standard and offer a number of activities that align with that standard.  I hope that you'll also add to my list so that we can all collaborate together.

For the first eight weeks we'll focus on Social Emotional Standards, so here we go;
(The Standards that I use every day, and am most comfortable with are Ohio's Early Learning Development Standards - you can review them here, however I've found that even if your State's standards differ, many of these activities can still be aligned similarly).

Domain: Social Emotional Development
Strand: Self
Topic: Awareness and Expression of Emotion

I've spent a lot of time scouring a number of different resources for social emotional activity ideas, this particular standard is the easiest to meet because activities and ideas are easy to find, and they don't require a lot of materials.  This particular standard also makes a lot of sense to children and parents, so it is easy for them to continue this learning at home.

Here are some ideas for teaching awareness and expression of emotion:

Play Dough Portraits from Sun Hats and Wellie Boots

Emotional Animals Charades from How Sweeter It Is

Flash cards and photo books made with your student's photos from B-Inspired Mama

Playing with face pieces from The Iowa Farmer's Wife

Can you make this face? from Play at Home Mom

Mood Stones from Happy Whimsical Hearts

Feelings Mirror from Megan Villa

Please add your favorite activities for practicing expression of emotion in the comments. I would love to create a huge list!
