Domain: Language and Literacy
Strand: Listening and Speaking
Topic: Expressive Language
This standard is all about using language to communicate. Children should be able to speak clearly and pronounce words correctly, but they should also be able to express their thoughts, and describe people and places.
Use old telephones to encourage verbal communication
Describe favorite storybook characters
Make a set of phonics phones so children can hear themselves
Make a chart to practice descriptive words
Visuals and hands on activities are great ways to help children make associations while they practice expressive language, these activities are all perfect for this standard!
