Gift an Experience
Do you have a special little one in your life? The holiday pressure is real when you want to impress your favorite kid. One more toy that won't stand out from the pile of other toys on Christmas morning doesn't seem like enough for a really special kid. This year, try something different, gift an experience that they will look forward to and remember for years to come. Here are a few ideas:
Go Ice Skating
Take an art or cooking class together
Visit the children's museum
Go to a sporting event
Make a special keepsake together
Go out to dinner, just the two of you
See a movie and splurge on snacks
Decorate a Christmas ornament
Visit the Zoo
Get dressed up to see the Nutcracker ballet
Pick out something special for their bedroom together
Help them make a gift for a parent or sibling
Bake cookies or build a gingerbread house
Volunteer together
Go shopping and let them pick out their own gift, along with a gift for a needy child
Have a slumber party complete with PJs and hot chocolate
Get them a mini Christmas tree for their room and help them make decorations for it
Take them on a holiday light drive after getting dinner or ice cream from the drive-through
Go shopping for a special holiday outfit together
Make Christmas cards to give to friends at school
Create a one of a kind ticket or certificate letting your favorite kid know that they have a special date with you, include the details of your plan, or make it a surprise.
These experiences lend themselves well to creating new traditions, you may find yourself giving the same gift or experience year after year because you both enjoy it so much!
