Preschool Gift Guide 2015

The holiday shopping season is officially in full swing, and I've already begun to get requests for what to buy the littlest members of the family, so I figured it must be time, time for my annual holiday gift guides!  Today is all about the preschoolers, here are some of my favorite finds and gifts to give all those 3, 4, and 5 year olds on my list; (Amazon links are affiliates)

Melissa & Doug Hi-Rise Dollhouse and Furniture Set I love this doll house for a few reasons.  First, it's durable, Melissa and Doug always deliver in the quality department.  Second, it's open, children can play from nearly any angle, so you can get a few children around the house and they will all be able to reach inside.  Third, it's gender neutral, boys will have just as much fun with this as girls, and they don't have to feel like they're playing with a girls' doll house.  

Gear Building Toy Set - Motorized Spinning Gears by Krazy Gears Krazy Gears take the STEM learning to the next step because they include a battery pack that makes the gears spin on their own.  Children get to create the design and then turn it on and see it work.  I had tons of fun with these at the NAEYC convention, I bet parents would love to explore these with their kids!

IO Blocks  These are the latest in creative blocks.  The shapes included allow children to create anything they can come up with, without being restrained by square or rectangular shapes.  The blocks slide together and stay put so that children can create and then play with whatever they build.

Green Toys Dump Truck Green Toys makes the best vehicles.  They are made out of recycled plastic, and super durable.  They are perfect for sandbox play and come in just about every kind of vehicle you can think of, including airplanes, helicopters, tractors, boats, school buses, fire trucks, and sports cars.

Wikki Stix Basic Shapes Creative Fun Kit Wiki can be used in a million different ways and they are easy to take along with you.  This set includes shape cards for extra engagement to encourage creativity.

Melissa & Doug Wooden Sandwich-Making Set Melissa and Doug have a number of food sets, each one more fun than the last.  These velcro sets are fun because you can mix and match them any way that you choose.  Kiddos can make them as tall as they want, and explore some sandwich ingredients that they may not be familiar with.

B. Doctor Set Wee MD This Doctor set from B. Toys has everything that a preschooler would need to practice their medical skills, what a great way to encourage pretend play and inspire a future career!

Play-Doh Breakfast Cafe Play-Doh sets were a hit when I was little, and some things never change.  This one lets children press their own waffles, create and fry eggs, for fruit and bacon, create scrambled eggs, and put whipped cream on top of it all! It sounds like a breakfast dream!

Ideal Amaze N Marbles Classic Wood Construction Set This wooden version of the classic marble maze set requires a careful touch and a little more persistence.  The pieces don't snap together or fit into each other, so children have to position them just right to make sure the marbles will make it through the holes.  I love the look of the wooden set, and when the kiddos are done putting their marble maze together, mom and dad just might let them keep it together because it is so beautiful.
